The NHL season kicks off with the SEA Kraken hosting the STL Blues. Both teams want to do better than last year as neither made the playoffs. The Blues were one spot short, missing the playoffs going 43-33-6, while the Kraken were a bottom-8 team going 34-35-13. The Blues acquired forward Dylan Holloway and defenseman Philip Broberg from Edmonton, while the Kraken added defenseman Brandon Montour and Center Chandler Stephenson. These additions will bolster both teams, however, the Blues have a much more talented roster, with 5 players scoring over 25 goals last year, compared to the Kraken's one. Kraken has the better goalie in Joey Daccord, but he has struggled against the Blues, going winless in 3 games while allowing 8 goals. The Kraken were also tied for 7th fewest wins at home last year, with 17, the same they had on the road. Expect the Blues offense to outpace the Kraken in this one.
