Tylor Magill has a 4.33 ERA through 7 starts this year but like most Mets Pitchers, he’s struggling. Pitching to a 6.13 ERA in his last 4. He has a 6.52 career ERA vs the Nats. That’s 4 Starts and 1 relief appearance. He has an 8.76 ERA in 3 starts at Nationals Park. The Nationals bats have been hot, averaging 6.6 runs per game in their last 5 games. They’ve scored 5+ in all but one game. SF ACE Logan Webb kept WSH in check as the Nats went 2-12 and left 10 on base when they scored just 1 Run on Tuesday. They followed that up by dropping 11 on Wednesday, their most recent outing.
MacKenzie Gore and his 3.65 ERA takes the mound for Washington. He’s been exceptional in all but 1 start, in which he gave up 4 ER against the Cubs. Outside of that he hasn’t allowed more than 3 ER all year. He’s had a rough schedule too. Vs Atlanta, @ Coors Field, @ LAA. vs BAL, vs CHC, @ AZ. 5 Top 10 offenses and arguably the hardest place to pitch in the Majors.
His 1 other start came against these Mets. He held them to 4 hits and 1 ER in 6 innings of work. He tied his career high with 10 strikeouts. The Mets have scored more than 2 Runs in just 2 of their last 8 games and they managed to lose both. They also rank 22nd in the league vs LHP. They’re 2-6 in their last 8 and haven’t won a series since the middle of April. They’re 1-7 in their last 8 road games as well.
