Major League Players Club MLB 4-5 Units (4/12/25)

MLB

2 Picks (8 Units).

2:10PM EST: Tigers/Twins Over 8.5 (4 Units).

DET SP Jackson Jobe has a 5.0 ERA allowing 3 runs in each of his first 2 starts on 4 and 5 IP. He allowed 3ER on 4IP in his lone road start. Free passes have been an issue, walking 7 total batters this season. MIN SP Chris Paddack was better in his most recent start than his first but still allowed 4 run on 4 IP. He has an opponent BA of .394 and a 2.59 WHIP. Both offenses are considerably stronger vs RHP compared to Left. Twins bullpen has been solid but they're 0 for in Save Opportunities. Tigers bullpen is 20th in ERA.

3:05PM EST: Giants ML +120 (4 Units).

SF SP Jordan Hicks has a 2.38 ERA. He got hurt by a couple long balls in his most recent start but still allowed just 3 ER on 5.1 IP. He allowed just 1 hit over 6 shutout innings in his first start at Houston. The issue for Hicks throughout his career has been his innings limit. He doesn't hold up over the course of a season and was relegated to bullpen duties early in his career because of it. He went back to starting for SF last year and didn't allow more than 3ER until his 12th start of the season. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball for the first two Months. He really doesn't need to be too great here. The Giants bullpen is 2nd in ERA at 1.75. 4 separate relievers have yet to allow a run and Ryan Walker's allowed just 1. With last night's game getting called early only one Giants reliever has pitched the last two days. It was Spencer Bivens (5.79 ERA). The Yankees still needed 4 relievers after getting just 2 outs from Starter Marcus Stroman.

NYY SP Will Warren gave up 4ER on 4IP at PIT his last time out. In his first start of the season, he allowed 2 ER on 5 IP vs Arizona. He didn't give up a HR in his most recent start but he did in his first and that's been an issue for him. He allowed 5 HR on 6 Games and 5 Starts last season. He allowed 2 HR in each of his last 2 spring training starts this year as well. Yankees stadium isn't the ballpark for him and the Giants now lead the league in AB/HR on the road after last night. 4:05PM EST: A's ML +115 (4 Units). NYM SP David Peterson has a 2.53 ERA but an xERA of 5.27. Through 10.2 IP he's issued 9 free passes. The A's lead the league in OPS (.967) and AB/HR (10.17) vs LHP. ATH SP JT Ginn is making his 2025 debut. The 25-year-old saw his first MLB playing time at the end of last season. He had a 3.91 ERA in 5 September starts without allowing more than 3 runs in any. He's a heavy sinker baller with a 56.3% ground ball rate and 51.4% K Rate in 2 Triple A Starts (11 IP). In his final spring start he allowed 1 Run on 2 hits on 4 IP while striking out 7. Elite stuff plays at every level if you can throw it for strikes. He walked just 2 batters at Triple A and 1 batter in his final spring start. He’s pitching very well right now. The Mets actually drafted him in 2020 but he was oft-injured and got traded in 2022. He'll have the unfamiliar edge going for him. The Mets are also 21st in OPS vs RHP.
