Major League Players Club MLB (4/25/23)
MLB (1 Pick)
7:40pm est: Cubs Moneyline -110 (3 Units)
Padres starter Blake Snell just had his best start of 2023. 5 IP and 2 ER. Nothing special. He has a 6.0 ERA and has failed to go deeper than 5 innings in any start. He has a career road ERA of 4.26 compared to a 2.75 home ERA. It’s also going to be a brisk 40 Degrees at Wrigley today. For a guy that spent his entire career at Tampa and San Diego, that’ll play a role. This Cubs line-up is hot and very good vs Lefties. The Cubs are MLB’s 2nd ranked Offense with an OPS .797, their OPS vs LHP is .015 points higher than vs RHP, and they have an OPS of .845 in their last 5 games.
Cubs starter Justin Steele has been dominant in 2023. He has a 1.44 ERA and has allowed just 4 earned runs in 4 starts. 2 of those 4 came from a pair of solo Homeruns and it’s going to be tough to leave the yard today. Along with cold temperatures there’s 13MPH winds blowing in. The Padres lineup ranks 19th vs LHP and are hitting just .187 with a .628 OPS in their last 5 games.
