MLB
2 Picks (10 Units).
7:10 PM EST: Diamondbacks/Mets Under 7.5 (5 Units).
LP: E. Rodriguez (AZ) / N. McClean (NYM).
Eduardo Rodriguez has yet to allow an earned run this season. He tossed 5 innings against the Dodgers in LA in his season opener and 7 shutout innings at Home against Atlanta last week. He's walked just 3 batters this season. The advanced metrics back him up, sporting a 2.27 xERA and 25.7% hard-hit rate.
NYM SP Nolan McClean took a perfect game into the 6th inning in his most recent start. He has a 2.61 ERA and an xERA of 2.31. He's up to 10 MLB starts now (8 last season) and has a career 2.16 ERA. He had a .37 ERA in his 4 home starts last year. Arizona's bats have struggled in April, scoring 21 runs in 7 games.
Both bullpens are also in phenomenal shape going into this one. Arizona won last night's game handedly 7-2. They were able to rest their high leverage arms albeit Ryan Thompson throwing 3 pitches. The Mets used just 1 reliever, Sean Manea in long relief.
9:40PM EST: Rockies/Padres Under 8 (5 Units).
LP: R. Vasquez (SD).
Colorado will open with reliever Jimmy Herget before passing things off to Chase Dollander. Herget's allowed just 1 run on 6 IP this season. Dollander had the same role on Saturday, and tossed 4.1 innings of 1 run ball at Home vs Philly in relief. Dollander had a 3.46 ERA on the road in 10 starts last season. Colorado's bullpen is also in great shape. They've used just 2 relievers the last 2 days in decisive wins over the Astros. The Rockies pen ranks 8th with a 2.89 ERA.
SD SP Randy Vasquez has been a bit of a revelation for SD. The forgotten piece of the Juan Soto Yankees trade has been a huge addition for the Padres. He's allowed just 1 run on the season, pitching 6 innings in each of his first 2 starts. Colorado's offense struggles outside Coors Field, especially after long home stands. Vasquez faced Colorado 3 times last season, allowing 2ER on 6 IP in each of his 2 starts at Coors Field, but fired 6 shutout innings in his lone home start. SD's best relievers are ready to back Vasquez.
