2 Picks... (9 Units).
1:10PM EST: NYY/DET Under 7 (4 Units).
NYY SP Max Fried really hasn't been too sharp and he's still sporting a 2.61 ERA through 2 starts. The vintage Max Fried performance is coming, and this is a great spot for it. The Yankees have lost the first two games of this series, so he's taken the mound trying to prevent a sweep. The Tigers are 3rd in OPS so far this season but that drops to 15th vs LHP. They're slashing .221/.299/.667 vs LHP and Max Fried's arguably the best LHP in the game of baseball today. DET SP Jack Flaherty had a 3.17 ERA last year and has a 2.38 ERA this year. He has a career 3.48 ERA in 9 starts at Comerica Park. The Yankees offense was shutout yesterday and scored 2 runs on Monday. That's led to great bullpen availability for both teams. The Yankees top arms have been rested and the Tigers used just 2 pitchers in yesterday's win. Both teams have tomorrow off so they can roll out their best arms even if they're trailing. It’s also sub 40° with winds blowing in from right field. 3:35PM EST: A's ML -120 (5 Units).
SD SP Randy Vasquez has a nice 1.69 ERA but an xERA of 5.67. He's done a good job limiting hard contact, but he's issued 9 walks and has just 5 Ks on 10.2 IP. He walked 4 batters on 6 IP in his first start and 5 on 4.2 IP in his 2nd. He had a 4.87 ERA last year and struggled with consistency, mostly on the road, sporting a 6.07 Road ERA. The A's offense has been solid and they're 3rd in Homeruns and AB/HR. They get power up and down the lineup and this is just the team to make Vasquez pay for too many free passes. The A’s did throw up a 10 spot on San Diego last night. A's SP Osvaldo Bido has a 2.7 ERA. He had a 3.41 ERA in limited time for the A's last year. He's pitched very well since joining the A's last season. Their stud closer Mason Miller hasn't pitched since Saturday either. With the A's having a scheduled day off tomorrow he can be used for a multi-inning save. San Diego just got nailed by injuries too. Losing each of their top 3 hitters on the season, Tatis, Merrill, and Croneworth.
