4 Picks (12 Units)

1:10PM EST: Brewers/Royals Under 7.5 (3 Units).

These are two of the best pitchers in baseball making their 2nd starts of the season. They each threw on opening day and are working on extended rest. Ragans has thrown 83 pitches in back-to-back starts and Peralta 90+. They can both toss 6 quality innings for us today. There isn't a ton of familiarity here either. The Brewers are hitless in 13 plate appearances vs Ragans and the Royals have a .154 BA in 30 PA vs Peralta.

3:35PM EST: A's ML -120 (3 Units).

CHC SP Jameson Taillon had a 6.75 ERA in 3 spring starts, allowing 5 Homeruns. He opened the regular season allowing 6 ER on 9 hits and 2 HRs. The A's hit homeruns and they hit a couple last night. Chicago also used their top relievers in last night's win. A's SP Jeffrey Springs tossed 6 shutout innings in his 2025 debut. Availability has been his issue over the years but he's good when he's out there, sporting a career 3.32 ERA. In his 38 career Starts he has a 2.43 ERA. There's also a decent chance Mason Miller can get us 3+ outs today. He's only pitched once this season and it was on Saturday. The A's also have off tomorrow so he's guaranteed some rest. 6:35PM EST: Red Sox ML -120 (3 Units). BOS SP Garrett Crochet just inked a $170 million contract. He allowed 2 Runs on 5 IP in his Red Sox debut. He was really sharp in spring, allowing just 1 run on 15.2 IP (.57 ERA). Like him to be a bit sharper today. He threw 90 pitches in his final spring start and 88 in his debut. Working on extended rest his arm should feel pretty good. Baltimore only has 23 career plate appearances against Crochet and they have a .227 BA. He faced them once last year, allowing 2 ER on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 11.

BAL SP Zach Eflin is a fine starter but the Red Sox have a .308 BA and .563 xSLG in 67 career plate appearances against him. Lifetime Eflin has a 5.1 ERA in 6 starts vs BOS. This could be just the spot Devers finds his groove. He has a .375 BA and 1.313 OPS in 16 career ABs vs Eflin. Boston's bats have struggled but they shouldn't need to score too many with Crochet pitching. We like them to do it against a familiar foe.

6:45PM EST: Rockies ML +280 (3 Units). COL SP Kyle Freeland tossed 6 scoreless innings against TB in his 2025 debut. He allowed just 2 hits and struck out 7 on 67 pitches. He's thrown 65+ in 4 straight starts and is working on extended rest. His arm should be feeling good. He's had the Phillies number throughout his career. He has a 3.5. ERA in 8 starts against PHI while holding them to a .675 OPS. The current Phillies roster has a .197 BA in 126 career plate appearances against Freeland. Harper has 23 ABs vs Freeland, Realmuto 15, Schwarber 12, Trea Turner 33, Bohm 8, and Castellano's 14. Castellano's is the only one who's OPS vs Freeland isn't substantially lower than their career average. Philly also has a .709 OPS vs LHP so far this season and finished spring with a .722 OPS vs LHP.

With Zach Wheeler on the mound Kyle Freeland likely has to be great. The 2nd start of the season has been a tricky spot for Wheeler throughout his career though. He has 10 MLB season's under his belt. Going back in his 2nd start of each season he's allowed 3 runs, 2, 7, 3, 3, 7, 3, 3, 4, 4. Terrible numbers for a guy with a 3.33 career ERA. Can take a while for guys arms to warm up and the intensity just isn't the same as spring. 80 pitches on opening day is much more taxing than 80 in spring training. Wheeler threw 97 in his first start of 2025 after failing to throw more than 75 in Spring.
