Tokyo Dome has historically been a hitter and home run friendly park. It's only 328 feet down the line to both left and right. First regular season start for pitchers is always a little shaky. Spring training can only do so much. This isn't just some game for these starters either. Two Japanese pitchers opening up the MLB season in their home Country. There's a ton of pride and a ton of pressure that comes with that. They both threw 75 pitches in their last spring training start and they likely fizzle out a little before that with the added intensity. Yamamoto does a good job keeping the ball down but he's struggled in big spots. He got hammered for 5 runs in his MLB debut in Japan last year and struggled in half of his playoff starts. Imanaga is a fly ball pitcher and that's trouble on at this field, especially against the Dodgers lineup. The Cubs don't lack power of their own either. It's also worth noting anytime the MLB is "showcasing", the balls tend to be a little juicier.
