This is a tough spot for a struggling Rangers team. They've lost 4 straight games and are struggling to score runs. They just played at home during the day yesterday before having to fly to Arizona. This is also a later start time than the Rangers are accustomed to.

They've scored 2 or less in 3 of their last 4 games. All of which came at home where they're the #1 scoring offense. They rank 2nd in OPS at Home compared to 9th on the road. They also have just 24 hits in their last 4 games combined.

TEX starts Jordan Montgomery. He has been pitching well but he was also pitching well leading up his first start against AZ. They racked up 10 hits and 7 runs over 4 innings against Monty earlier this year.

The D-Backs on the other hand are starting to surge after a terrible run post all-star break. Their offense has turned it back on, leading them to a 7-2 record in their last 9 games while averaging 5.1 Runs per game. All 9 games came against divisional opponents. They have a .279 BA and .802 OPS over the last week. They swept the double header against SD on Sunday and have the benefit of getting the day off yesterday.

Slade Cecconi starts for AZ. He has a 3.48 ERA in 3 games (2 Starts). He allowed 2 ER in each of his 2 starts, pitching 4.2 and 4 innings. D-Backs bullpen got the day off yesterday and their high leverage arms and closer Paul Sewald are available.
