TB snuck out of Atlanta with a win in Week 1, but they struggled for the most part offensively. Baker Mayfield threw a few TD passes but 2 of those 3 scoring drives started in Falcons territory. Baker was 17 of 32 (53.1%) for 167 yards. TB really struggled to run the football, rushing for 101 yards on 23 carries. Baker was the leading rusher with 5 carries for 39 yards. The Texans defense played very well against the Rams on the road in Week 1, limiting them to 14 points. They limited LA to just 72 rushing yards on 25 carries (2.9 YPC). Houston was 8th in opponent YPC in 2024 and 2nd in 2023. DC Matt Burke was hired in 2023 and is still leading this defense. TB's ground game is set to struggle again today and it's incredibly difficult to win on the road that way. The Texans led the league in sacks per game at Home in 2024. It's their Home Opener on Prime Time, the stadium will be rocking. The Texans offense struggled in LA but that's as good a front 7 as there is in the NFL right now. TB has been solid defensively under Todd Bowles, but the Texans don't lack talent offensively. Playing at Home we like a better performance.
