Colorado is switching to QB Ryan Staub for this game. He provided a spark against Delaware and is getting the chance to build on that. This is his 3rd year in Colorado, and he wasn't able to win the starting job outright. Lighting it up at Home against Delaware, a first year FBS program just doesn't say much. This Colorado offense has struggled more often than not this season and each of their first 2 games were at Home. Houston's defense has dominated inferior teams in each of their first 2 games this season. Home Field advantage should really play into this one tonight. It's Colorado's first road game and it's a Nationally televised game on ESPN on Friday Night. They're hosting a program in Colorado that just makes noise. Cougars’ stadium will be packed tonight.

The Houston offense has been pretty dreadful given their competition. They put up 27 against Stephen F Austin in Week 1, and 35 against Rice in week 2. 21 of those 35 points came in the 4th quarter against Rice. 7 of the 21 came off a pick 6 and another 7 off a short field after a turnover on downs by Rice with the game well in hand. Colorado's defense dominated Delaware last week and they played pretty stout against a very good Georgia Tech offense in Week 1. They went on to lose 27-20 to Georgia Tech and gave up a few too many yards but they hung tough. Georgia Tech just ran all over them, specifically QB Haynes King. Houston's starting QB is a capable athlete but he's no Haynes King and the Houston offense is not designed to run the QB like Georgia Tech's. King only threw for 143 yards against Colorado. With Deion in charge the Buffs don't lack talent in the secondary. They should keep a lid on an ugly Houston offense despite playing on the road.
