1 Pick (3 Units).
10:30PM: San Jose State -13.5 (3 Units).
Central Michigan went 4-8 overall and 2-6 in conference play last season. They have a first time Head Coach in Matt Drinkall. He was Army's offensive line coach last year. It's a tough spot for their first game playing late and traveling to the West Coast. Longtime Navy HC Ken Niumatalolo took over a SJSU team that ranked 129th in returning production and led them to a 7-6 record last year. They were very competitive, with 3 of their 6 losses being 1 score games. 2 of the 3 outliers were losses vs Boise State and UNLV. Both of those games were 1 possession games in the 4th quarter and got away from San Jose late. Going into year 2 with Niumatalolo at the helm with key starters returning we see progression ahead. Their starting QB is back, leading edge rusher, multiple pieces along the OL, and 14 of 22 players that saw starts on defense. San Jose's won 5 straight season openers, and we like a decisive 6th one here.
