3 Picks (10 Units).
7:09PM EST: BYU/Alabama Over 175.5 (4 Units).
There's going to be some scoring barrages in this one. Bama forces their tempo on every team that they play regardless of how good the defense is. The good offensive teams they face tend to welcome the pace and that's what we expect from BYU. The Cougars are 9th in offensive rating, and they love to let the 3-Ball fly. They're 28th in 3-PT % and 21st in 3-PT Rate. They're also 72nd in defensive rating so Alabama won't have much of an issue cutting through them. Alabama is going to lose some shooters in the chaos of their Tempo and BYU has plenty. Everyone but their Centers can shoot, and those 2 split time. There's almost always 4 perimeter shooters on the Floor for BYU. They still have to hit the shots but even if they don't, long misses create long rebounds and that just jumpstarts Alabama’s transition offense.
7:39PM EST: Florida -6 (3 Units).
This is just a rough match-up for Maryland. The way they've rebounded is not a sustainable winning formula. Over their last 3 games their rebound rate is 43.3%. If that was their season average that would rank 359th. It also goes back further than that as they were outrebounded 42-30 against Illinois 4 games back. Going back, they've allowed 13 offensive rebounds to Col St, 11 offensive rebounds to Grand Canyon, 14 offensive rebounds to Michigan, and 13 offensive rebounds to Illinois. Florida is 8th in rebound rate and 4th in offensive rebounding %. Florida is elite at the rim in all facets of the game and that's where Maryland's 6th ranked defense has struggled. If Maryland can't keep Florida off the glass, it won't even matter if they hold them to a lower shooting %. Florida is 10th in defensive rating and has played and beaten 4 of the best offenses in the Country in the Month of March alone. Maryland’s 22nd in offensive rating.
9:39PM EST: Duke -9.5 (3 Units).
Duke's better than Arizona at most things and better at what Arizona is good at. Arizona makes up for their offensive inefficiency on the glass. Duke's 7th in rebound rate to Arizona's 10th. Duke's 18th in defensive rebounding % and 36th in offensive rebounding %. Arizona's 57th in defensive rebounding % and 15th in offensive rebounding %. Even if Arizona snags some extra possessions, the Blue Devils likely even the score. Then there's everything else. Duke's 5th in FG % and 17th in 3-PT %. Arizona’s 37th in FG % and 195th in 3-PT %. Duke is 16th in turnovers per possession and Arizona is 114th. Duke is 4th in defensive rating and Arizona is 28th. Duke's led by the best player in the Country and Arizona is led by Caleb Love, one of the streakiest, most inconsistent players of the last 5 years. They play the games for a reason, but Duke really clears in all facets and we're comfortable with the big number.
