North Carolina's just the better all-around team. They're 17th in Adj O and 6th in Adj D. You really can't stop Alabama's offense, but North Carolina will be able to contain them. Defensively they're 30th in PPP in transition while Alabama's 59th offensively. North Carolina allows the least fast break points per game in the nation. On the opposite end of the floor the UNC offense will have its way. Alabama's 101st in Adj D and they're a smaller lineup starting 4 guards. UNC also loves to play fast, and this Alabama defense is 166th in PPP in transition. They're terrible defending the Rim and foul incredibly too much. UNC has one of the best scoring Bigs in Armando Bacot with a significant edge over Alabama's "Big" Grant Nelson. UNC also holds the rebounding edge against the smaller Bama lineup as well.

Illinois ranks 1st in Adj O and 81st in Adj D. Iowa State's 48th in Adj O and 1st in Adj D. Illinois will push the tempo of this game and ISU has proven a willingness to play fast on multiple occasions. Primarily because the best Iowa State offense is their 31st ranked transition offense. Defensively they match up well against Illinois too. The Illini aren't an elite 3-PT shooting team. They're outside the top 100 in both 3-PT% and 3-PT Rate. The Cyclones defensive struggles have come against elite perimeter shooter that can really spread them out. ISU is a long and athletic defense that will force you into tough spots and turn you over. They'll get some stops and get their transition offense rolling in this game. Illinois's defense is terrible and allows more than 78 points per game away from home.
